Six University of Arkansas - Fort Smith students have been installed as officers for the 2009-2010 academic year for the Alpha Beta Omega Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education in a meeting in which students set May 4 as a deadline for donation of school supplies for children in Mena.
school supplies and hygiene items will be collected in boxes located in each building on the UA Fort Smith campus from April 27 through May 4. The donated supplies will be delivered to Mena, where a recent tornado damaged schools, businesses and homes.
New officers are Carrie Farmer of Rogers, president; Ashley Hill of Spiro, vice president; Shiloh Scott of Alma, secretary; Angela Combs of Roland, treasurer; Jeffrey Jones of Alma, historian; and Heather Smyth of Mulberry, Foundation representative and Student Senate representative.
Co-counselors for the UA Fort Smith chapter of Kappa Delta Pi are Deebe Milford of Alma, Ginger Osburn of Sallisaw and Lois Yocum of Fort Smith.
