1,750 Needy Students to Receive Backpacks Filled with School Supplies

With most San Jose schools beginning Monday, Sacred Heart Community Service will give more than 1,700 students backpacks filled with school supplies today helping them to prepare them for success this coming school year (see also Sacred Heart Community Service).

Distribution begins at 10 AM and lasts until 3:30 PM at Sacred Heart Community Service, 1381 S. First Street at Alma in San Jose, CA.

"Education allows children the chance to rise above economic barriers and I'm proud Sacred Heart has brought the community together to invest in these student's successes," noted SHCS Executive Director Poncho J. Guevara. "Our annual Pack-a-Back program brings us one step closer to realizing our vision of a community united to ensure every child and adult is free from poverty."
